The Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki’s vibrant redevelopment by FJMT and Archimedia has notched up yet another impressive success, winning the International Award for Architectural Excellence from The Royal Institute of British Architects.

Given to just 12 buildings a year, the awards recognise some of the world’s most imaginative, dramatic and green buildings. The Gallery is the first New Zealand building to have been recognised in this prestigious awards programme.

The Gallery adds this admirable achievement to a number of other recent awards, including the Supreme Award, the New Zealand Architecture Medal at the NZIA Architecture Awards and the highest accolade as the country’s top commercial property development for 2012 at the Annual Property Industry Awards.
