Developers Willis Bond & Co have announced plans for a new luxury residential development at Hobsonville Point’s Catalina Bay. The block of 71 townhouses, apartments and penthouses will be designed by Architectus, who also designed 2019 Sir Ian Athfield Award for Housing winner Wynyard Central.

The developers report that all the residences will “champion spacious living areas”, with townhouses featuring three-metre high ceilings. “Almost all apartments will enjoy spectacular north facing harbour views, and a number will boast views across water to protected headlands, over bush to the Waitākere Ranges, or across to Auckland’s city lights,” says project director David McGuinness.

“We have taken exceptional care to masterplan the entire development, ensuring these freehold residences will be a sanctuary to live in and benefit from all the incredible Catalina Bay amenities such as cafes and restaurants, the Hangar co-working facility and the renowned farmers market,” he continues.

Catalina Bay has experienced exceptional growth in recent years, with the wider neighbourhood of Hobsonville Point being lauded for its community-making efforts. The Catalina Bay Apartments are part of stage two of Willis Bond & Co’s development of the waterfront area.

McGuinness concludes, “Architectus has taken care in designing a landmark building at Catalina Bay which respects the natural environment and history of the area, while also creating a superb modern living environment.”
